About this splitter

What it does

We add the tip to the bill, then give each person the percentage you set for them. A bill of $60.00 split four ways with a tip of 10 percent comes to $16.50 each.

Each share is rounded up to two decimal places, so the group never underpays. The parts always add back up to the bill plus the tip.

Adding and removing people

Everyone starts on an even share. Take somebody off the list and their share is spread across the people who are left, so the percentages still total 100 and you can split straight away.

Where the shares do not divide into whole cents, the last person on the list absorbs the rounding. Nobody else ever pays more than the percentage you set.

Type the two numbers into the boxes and press Enter, or click Split it. The splitter handles any number of people, including one, and any tip from 0 percent upwards. A $50.00 bill for one person with no tip is $50.00.
